Healthy growth is slow growth
These words of wisdom have proven true time and again. Lasting, meaningful change happens slowly, incrementally. At first this may seem discouraging as we’re longing for relief now. However, it also makes the change process more approachable and doable. It’s the “little things” in the day to day that add up to profound outcomes.
incrementum
Latin. (noun). 1. growth, increase, augmentation. 2. that which promotes growth.
Counseling from the comfort of home
…or your car, or the office, or your patio.
I offer virtual (video) sessions to anyone in North Carolina through a confidential and secure platform. This allows you to access care from wherever you can find a quiet, private place (no fighting traffic required!). All of my sessions are in the evenings to work around your work/school/life schedule as much as possible. If you want to know more about how this works or what to expect from a video session, I would be happy to schedule a free 10-minute phone consultation.

counseling for life transitions
A unique characteristic of life as a 20- or 30-something is the frequency and magnitude of change. Going to college, starting a career, moving cities, dating, making friends, living on your own, getting married, having kids, navigating evolving family dynamics: these are just some of the many changes and transitions faced by young adults. No wonder so many people end up feeling lost, anxious, or overwhelmed. I help you connect to your values so you can find direction, make decisions, and navigate change in any domain of life with confidence.
counseling for anxiety and depression
Many people come to me overwhelmed by life circumstances. This can lead to feelings of fear, panic, and worry that intrudes on your work, relationships, or sleep. This can also result in feeling stuck, pessimistic, burnt out, or hopeless about the future. Maybe you’re overcome with self-doubt and impostor syndrome. Maybe you’re just exhausted. However this shows up for you, if life is feeling overwhelming, counseling may help. I offer a combination of coping strategies to help today, as well as an exploration of underlying experiences, feelings, or beliefs that may be influencing your distress.
spirituality in counseling
I believe spirituality is an important component to every person’s health and wellbeing. I am experienced in incorporating clients’ spiritual practices with care, respect, and intentionality. I also have specific training integrating Christian beliefs and practices into the counseling process. I use a client-led, collaborative approach and believe such integration can be enriching to both the counseling process and your spiritual walk. If this is something you are interested in or have questions/hesitations about, I would love to discuss this with you more.
