Hi, I’m danielle coffey.
I’m so glad you’re here. I am honored when someone invites me into their life and shares their story with me. I hope that, together, we can find a path towards growth, healing, and peace.
I have a passion for self-compassion. Life is hard and being hard on yourself only makes it harder. In my 10 years of working with clients I have learned that compassionate curiosity leads to more meaningful insight and change. This doesn’t mean you have to feel good about everything you’ve done or experienced in your life. Rather, amidst mistakes and hardships, you can learn to be your own best friend. I will help you to encourage and challenge yourself in your process of healing and growth.
My background and education
I pursued an undergraduate degree in studio art from Wake Forest University, with minors in music and psychology. I earned my MS in counseling in 2016 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina (license #12515). I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings, including day treatment, college clinic, foster care, church, and outpatient.
a little more about me
I am an (almost) native Charlottean, having moved to Charlotte when I was 5. While I don’t particularly love the summer humidity, I do prefer yard work to house work and you can often find me outside walking, running, gardening, and keeping up with my toddler. If I’m inside, I’m probably elbow deep in an art project. And yes, I do love coffee as much as my name would imply!
